Dorks In Space News
02/18/10 - A Rare Live Sighting!
It's true! You thought it would never happen! The Dorks will play live once again! We're rehearsing thanks to the generosity of the Neutrino Girl and her supreme toddler-minding skills. We hope to have a tasty rock-and-roll offering for our long-suffering fans (all two of you). See the shows page for details, or the flyer on the front page. This is our first show after more than two years and two babies! Who knows when it will happen again, so get your rock in while you can!
02/07/08 - Return to Hollywood Alley
No date for Valentine's day? Or rather you'd like to show that someone special how hard you ROCK instead of waiting two hours for an overpriced meal of CRAP? Aww yeah. On Thursday, February 14th, at 9:30 pm, you need to come to the Hollywood Alley (2610 W Baseline in Mesa, NE corner of 101 and Baseline) This will be the most v-day action you ever get for $3! Other bands TBA.
01/06/08 - Now on Myspace
We have finally caved in to peer pressure and given our souls to Rupert Murdoch's evil empire. You can now find us on MySpace at, predictably enough, http://myspace.com/dorksinspace. If you are on MySpace as well, and it seems if you live anywhere less remote than the border regions of Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province, you probably are, then hit us up there. It's so depressing having only two friends!
01/06/08 - Show announcement
Everybody mark you calendars for Saturday, January 26th, 2008. We will be playing at Casa Blanca / Art Murder gallery (1801 W Van Buren St, downtown Phoenix, at 18th Ave and Van Buren) with The Relics, Hung Dynasty, Juicy Newt and Drop Spin. Come out on a Saturday night to rock to this swweeeet diverse lineup of rockin' bands and check out the new ArtMurder gallery while you're there. Once again thanks to our good friends in Hung Dynasty for the hookup!
04/04/05 - New Photos!
I've managed to get the photos from thePaper Heart show up. Take a peek on the gallery page. Why has it taken this long? Well, I've been busy.
11/30/04 - rrrRRRRRRROCCCCKK!
Dorks In Space violently crash-land at The Paper Heart, 750 NW Grand Ave in downtown Phoenix on Thursday, December 16th. Also playing are the Space Tourists. Five bucks at the door.
8/26/04 - Sort of a Gig
Stash will be playing some solo accoustic at the Paper Heart's Final Frontier show on Sept 1.
7/7/04 - Still Here...
Yeah, I know we said we were moving in a matter of "weeks." Well, for some reason Austin wants everything to be working before we make the big migration. So I'll just do a little tidying up around here and we'll move the site when we're all good and ready.
5/31/04 - DIS is Moving!
We will be moving our website to Austin's new server in the next week or two. We will try to make this as non-messy as possible, but there will probably be a few kinks to work out. We're prepared for the occasional hiccup, and we don't want you, our loyal Dorks addicts, to freak out if you can't get to us. We've not gone, we'll be back soon.
5/25/04 - Latest on the Big Fish
More info about this Saturday's Big Fish Pub gig. We will be playing with Manhattan Press, Red Light Flicker Dickies, El Gringo Loco, Old Fashion Assassin, and Arm The Homeless. Doors at 8 pm, Dorks at 8:30 pm, all ages, $6 cover. The Big Fish Pub is at 1954 East University Drive in Tempe (just E of McClintock).
5/13/04 - Website Touchups
You will notice that the website looks a little different. We are making a few changes around here and hopefully everything works properly. The Ramblings section doesn't have the new look yet, that's coming soon. If you find anything broken, drop us a line. UPDATE: Ramblings are lookin' good too, now!
5/5/04 - Gigs!
Holy cats! Dorks In Space is blowing up all over the place. We have not one, but TWO new shows to announce. On Saturday night, May 29th, we Dorkify the legendary Big Fish Pub in Tempe. Yes, this is Saturday night, so we want all of you workin' stiffs to let it all hang out and have a good time. Stay tuned to this space to see what other bands will be rocking the Big Fish with us. Then on Thursday, June 17th, we are invading Rio Salado Brewing Company's Salt River Saloon. This is the bar formerly known as Mill Ave. Beer Company, where we played our first show outside of my dining room over a year ago. We are delighted to return and will be there to rock you all night long while you savor some fine microbrews.
4/26/04 - Rock @ Ziggys!
THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT (two days from now) at Ziggy's Rock and Roll Lounge at 4th & Mill in lovely downtown Tempe. We will begin rocking at about 9:30 pm. Big Vinny and at least one other band will follow. There is a $5 cover, but that gets you access to the $1 PBR drafts and many other fine beverages. We apologize for the short notice. Truth is, the band didn't have much notice either but we are grabbing this opportunity to bring the rock to Mill Ave, Dork style. Wednesday night is the regular Arizona Roller Derby Benefit at Ziggy's. We're not real sure what that's all about, but apparently it involves tough punk rock chicks and rock and roll.
